In the distant future, when a mysterious figure secretly unlocks young Salvador Santiago's ability to fold space, he secures the Galactic Union's only hope against brutal alien devastation. Driven by xenophobic hatred and equipped with vastly superior technology, the invading armada begins its conquest of the Milky Way.

Jane Carter, captain of a privately owned star freighter, sets up a high paying job for her ragtag crew. When she enlists Salvador as her space jump navigator, she unwittingly sets in motion a chain of events that leaves her matching wits with assassins, mercenaries and saboteurs. Meanwhile, the Galactic Union finds itself in the grip of a desperate battle for survival, as the invading armada burns world after world. Will Salvador's abilities be enough to save humanity from total destruction? Even if his abilities are strong enough, his enemies know who he is and what he can do.

Shadow Galactic Erik P Harlow Books

The plot and twists are outstanding. The only reason for four stars and not five are the typos that are evident t in at least half dozen places. I don't know if Erik Harlow is a one man show without an editor or not. Someone didn't proof read this before it was published. I have been reading books for 65 years and the last ten I have seen a decline in editing proficiency. The electronic age of publishing has accelerated this decline. Is pride of workmanship leaving us? Mr. Harlow, I congratulate you on an excellent tale that kept me turning pages. I ask only that you find a proof reader with pride.

Shadow Galactic Erik P Harlow Books Reviews

This book was really solid. Picked it up on a friends referral and I was thoroughly entertained. What I liked the most was how well developed the character were and their interactions. The author truly understands how a group of people behave and makes their interactions serious, funny, and enthralling. My only fault with the book was that I didn't understand the situation in the beggining, but I've been told the author revised it and it now has more flow. A truely whimsical book where the author had fun with characters, setting, and story development which shows in the way he tells the story. I love it, and I hope Mr. Harlow comes out with more adventures for me to read.
A very interesting read. Keeps you hanging on to see what happens next. You will enjoy this if you like sci-fi books. The characters are well developed snd most of them are quite believable. I hope there is a sequel to this group of characters.
This was such a fun read full of action and drama alongside wonderfully descriptive language. Plot twist after plot twist abound and deepen the story's complexity while keeping the reader engaged and entranced by the tale. The characters feel real and the world is immersive. The novel delves into the cost of technological advances, and what costs they hold for future generations. The cost of automation and generations that know nothing of how the technologies they use operate and are manufactured. If you're looking for a great book to read, buy this one. You won't regret it, I sure don't!
EK has written an epic space adventure. The action starts on the first page and continues to the last page. The actions of one, who wants to destroy humanity, against the other races in a bid for an intergalactic war. This is an excellent read for the genre.....ER
First time with this author but I enjoyed the book, several times I thought man finish this already and then he would bring out a new twist and get me hooked again.
This book was a very enjoyable read. The characters are fairly well fleshed out. The plot line is pretty good, but could use more detail. For me, it seemed that the author rushed the storyline along a tad bit and, thus, could have spent more time with scene setting and better character development. The only real issue I had was that after the first unconscious use of his time-folding ability, the main character suddenly knows how to use it and bam, can use it at-will. No trial and error, no testing, nothing. If he didn't know he could do that originally, the how does he know he can do it again and how he even did it in the first place? Otherwise, this book was pretty good in my opinion and would recommend it to my friends and family.
I personally found this book a little better than average. This is my personal opionion and I will list my two biggest CONs, there may be *SPOILERS*

CONS
- Not a single person in the story acted like real people. By this I mean things, like agreeing without much hesitation to working for your kidnappers. Like being concerned about your family, for a sentence and than never thinking about them again. Like the military letting someone go with such awesome power.

- I really disliked the character of the Captain (zerki). She never did anything to inspire the loyalty of the crew, who served her. The threat she used to gain the employment of Gavin is how hard his life would be if the Union ever found him. Than she betrays him (yes I know it was for the good of the universe, but sh went behind his back and presented it as a fait accompli), to the Union in order to help win the war. However, unlike earlier, Gavin now has no problems with joining.

When I read, unless it is really glaring I don't notice grammatical issues, so I can't comment on that aspect. Overall the book was little better than average, not horrible but not great. I will most likely not ever read it again, because there is really nothing in it that will draw me back.

Like I said at the beginning these are my personal opinion and others my differ (there is a 5 star review) I encourage the author to keep writing.
